Welcome to Mind + Body Groups, LLC
Mind + Body Groups, LLC was founded by Kate D'Agostino, LCSW, 200 YTT (she/they). Kate began her career in mental health during her undergraduate studies in Austin, Texas, where she worked in two psychiatric hospitals facilitating mindfulness and yoga groups. During this time, she was struck by how many individuals were experiencing meditative breath and movement for the very first time. Through heartfelt conversations with patients, it became increasingly clear to her that a profound gap existed in our mental health system.
Driven by a desire to understand the systemic barriers that lead to high recidivism rates and environments that often fail to feel truly therapeutic, Kate built upon her BA in Psychology by pursuing a Master’s in Social Work.
After graduating, she worked in a clinical capacity as a therapist, supporting individuals navigating anxiety and OCD. Yet, rooted in the core passion that brought her to this field in the first place, she felt called to bridge the gap between clinical care and holistic wellness. This inspired her to establish Mind + Body Groups, LLC, a company dedicated to effectively implementing mindfulness and yoga programs across diverse mental health settings. Kate’s ultimate goal is to increase access to these vital tools, provide practices that support long-term sustainability, and share her deep love for mindfulness and yoga- thus, Mind + Body Groups was born.
At Mind Body Groups, our approach is grounded in a fundamental principle: mental well-being and physical health are inextricably linked. Modern life often forces a separation between the two, treating physical symptoms and psychological stress as isolated issues. We reject this fragmented model.
Our purpose is to provide structured, group-based environments where individuals can learn practical, evidence-based skills to manage stress, regulate their nervous systems, and improve their overall quality of life. Healing and resilience are optimized when we address the whole person.
Personal Agency and Skill-Building
While clinical medical care is essential, long-term health requires active individual participation. We focus on equipping people with practical, self-care tools rooted in behavioral science. Such as cognitive reframing, somatic awareness, and regulated breathing. We believe in empowering individuals to transition from passive to active managers of their own wellbeing.
Peer Support and Co-Regulation
Isolating with chronic stress or health challenges often compounds the problem. Interpersonal connection lowers cortisol levels, reduces the stigma of struggle, and provides a framework for mutual accountability. In a group setting, individuals find a structured environment to build collective resilience.
