Although medication and case management are incredibly important, so is equipping the clients we serve with practical coping skills to navigate the ever changing, and anxiety inducing, world.
The Mind + Body HLOC Program is a specialized yoga and mindfulness program to support high-acuity behavioral health environments. We recognize that when the nervous system is overwhelmed with trauma and/ or stress our window of tolerance may shrink, we may exceed that window of tolerance and enter a state of hyperarousal or on the flip side, enter a state of hypoarousal. This program provides patients with somatic tools to improve distress tolerance and emotional regulation and gain skills to be a nonjudgmental observer of all that is coming up in the body.
The Mind + Body HLOC Program was designed to be adaptable in acute inpatient units, residential treatment centers (RTCs), and intensive outpatient programs (IOPs). We help reduce the administrative burden on your facility by providing trauma-informed instructors who function seamlessly within your multi-disciplinary care team. As well, we help enhance the therapeutic work that is already being taught by providing mindfulness skills that are inspired by Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT).
We know that the census is constantly fluctuating and there is variation with the duration of stay for many patients. In order to address this, we offer weekly modules that function as a completely self-contained group for newly admitted patients, while simultaneously weaving a comprehensive, progressive therapeutic arc for long-term residents.
Mindfulness has been shown to support distress tolerance, reduction in anxiety and depression symptoms, and supporting a sense of connection.
Our program can profoundly support your facility in acheiving the following performance indicators:
Generalizable Coping Skills: Tools taught in groups translate directly to patients' ability to self-regulate on the floor.
Enhanced Group Program Scheduling: Highly engaging, low-barrier somatic groups often attract patients who are otherwise resistant to traditional, verbal-heavy psychotherapy groups.
Treatment Plan Integration: Our instructors provide objective, behavioral documentation of patient participation, tracking affect, engagement, and utilization of regulation tools for your clinical records.
